The Mi A1 which is the Xiaomi’s take on Google’s Android One project has started receiving the latest Android December Security update, and Mi A1 is getting it right just after the pixel devices, so kudos to Google for considering the budget Android One device. The update weighs 153MB and along with the December security patch, which should, in theory, protect against any new vulnerabilities and also brings new bug fixes and stability improvements.
Apart from that, we don’t think there’s any improvement on the camera side of things. However, if you own the budget flagship Android One device do let us know in the comments below if you have noticed any camera improvements or any enhancements in the portrait mode.
Before downloading the update and installing it make sure, your device has at least 60% plus battery remaining, to install it without any failures in between, which might cause due to low battery.
Moreover, if you haven’t received the update yet, be patient as these updates cover the globe in phases spreading steadily. And in case, if you happen to see other Mi A1 devices around you with the update, keep checking manually for the update, by heading straight over to Settings > About Phone > System Software updates.
Lastly, if you’re wondering about the Android Oreo for the Mi A1 then relax, it’s almost done in the beta stage and should start rolling out in the coming weeks. That’s the advantage you get when you buy into the Android One devices; updates are rolled out on par with Pixel devices.
