Due to its heavy skin, Xiaomi is always late when it comes to Android updates. And this time it is the same story again the Chinese OEM has at last announce list of devices that will be upgraded to MIUI 9 which is based on Android nougat 7.0 which is an old version of Android now.
It is one of the drawbacks that comes when you buy super affordable Android phones, and it’s going nowhere even in this age unless you have a Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One device. Moreover, Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 brings all the new features of Android nougat 7.0 such a split screen window multitasking better battery optimisation how completely revamp settings panel and much more. Apart from that you also get various bug fixes and latest security patches.
New to the company’s massive line up of affordable devices, it is expected that delays will happen. Until the same story with every Chinese manufacturer.
