Xiaomi Redmi 5A Launched in India, All You Need to Know

Xiaomi was hinting for a while about its latest budget smartphone for the Indian market, and now they have officially unveiled the device in India, and it is known as the Redmi 5A. By the name, it appears to be the successor of current Redmi 4A device, but the specs are almost same on paper. The device is priced very aggressively and at this specific price it is bound to be highly successful, so without any further delay, let�s check out the specifications and pricing of the handset.

Powering the Redmi 5A is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425(64 bit) Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.4Ghz coupled with optional 2GB/3GB of RAM along with an Adreno 308 GPU for Gaming. It is a Dual-SIM smartphone and supports 4G networks. The device will be made available in two ROM options: 16GB/32GB both variants are compatible with expandable storage through SD-cards up to 128GB�s. There is no separate SD-card slot; so the�user has to rely on the hybrid sim/sd-card slot setup.

The device comes with the latest MIUI 9 based on the Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.�It houses a 5.0(inch) HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Coming to the�photography aspect, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, aperture f/2.2 and in the front, a 5MP shooter is present with aperture f/2.0. It runs on a 3000mAh battery which is more than enough. There is no fingerprint scanner on the device, and the design is a bit updated when compared to the Redmi 4A. It is priced at 5,999 INR for the 2GB RAM/16GB ROM variant, and 6,999 INR for the 3GB RAM/32GB ROM variant through the first 1000 units of the 16GB ROM version will be sold with a discount of 1000 INR.

The device will be available from 7th�of December through Flipkart and Mi India; it comes in Gray, Gold and Rose Gold colors.
