Xiaomi released their Redmi Note 5 Pro in 2018 which was their blockbuster device and a fantastic phone from Xiaomi. The company sold it furiously last year. The device lately received Android 9 Update bringing all new features with also a bought some bricking situations. The company later launched another phone in the same year. Redmi Note 6 Pro the successor of Redmi Note 5 Pro arrived with almost identical features. The smartphone was almost similar to its predecessor with a slightly improved camera, a dual camera set up at the front and a Notched display to follow the notch trend. On paper, both of these devices have almost identical specifications, and the Notch is probably the only visual key difference in their design.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro was the company’s prodigal release as later the company launched Redmi Note 7 Pro in Q1 2019. The Redmi Note 7 Pro was a significantly better upgrade overall. It has better hardware a significant camera improvement, refreshed design, and it was indeed a substantial upgrade. Between the Note 5 Pro and Note 7 Pro, Note 6 Pro made absolutely no sense to me at least.
However, the company did not abandon the owners of Redmi Note 6 Pro. After a Beta program, the device received Android 9 Pie update over OTA in the form of MIUI 10.3.2.0 back in May.
An incremental update in the form of MIUI 10.3.3.0, was also rolled out for a while. The incremental update served May security patch and persistent lock screen after the face unlock feature.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi later pulled back both the updates for some undisclosed reasons. Users who received the update or flashed it manually did notice several glitches. Glitches included quick battery draining, poor RAM management, lag while switching between apps with gestures, poor GPS accuracy, frequent security app crashes, and much more.
Finally, after a delay, Xiaomi developers are re-releasing the much anticipated Android 9 Pie update for Note 6 Pro users as the fastboot flashable package of 10.3.2.0 is now live for download. Publishing the fastboot package is a clear indication that the company is almost ready for a wider rollout.
NOTE: We don’t know why the older build is released without any improvement, but we guess it is less buggy than the 10.3.3.0 build.
