Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Launched in India – Here’s everything you need to know

Xiaomi has sold more than 15 million Redmi Note series devices in the Indian market. The smartphone we are going to talk about today in the Redmi Note series is the recently launched Redmi Note 7 which will again be the number one seller in the Indian region due to its steep price to performance ratio which is extremely high compared to its competition. Design

The device has a notch display as the Notch trend is likely to continue in 2019. We have seen two types of notch one is the rectangular one which was first brought by the iPhone X, and now the new water drop (Also known as dewdrop) shaped notch is in the trend which offers more screen space and also looks better than that rectangular cut-out. A glass alike body and back panel with color gradients design with dual cameras and a dual tone LED flash.

Under the hood the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE SOC which is an Octa-Core chipset clocked at 2.2GHz running on Kryo 260 cores, that’s further coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, Bluetooth 5.0 and better DSP to process better image output. Xiaomi is introducing an 18-month warranty on the Redmi Note 7 in China, but it’s not clear yet that they will also give the same in other regions.

In the memory options, you will get a 3GB/32GB storage, the popular 4GB RAM & 64GB variant and 6GB/64GB variant. There is also an option to expand the storage via microSD card. On the display side, the phone has a 6.3-inch 19.5:9 IPS panel with the regular 1080p+ Full HD resolution. Other features of the smartphone include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5 mm audio jack with some custom tuning for better audio output, micro USB Type-C support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and a 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0.

Software 

The device is running on the Android Pie 9.0 instead of shipping with Android Oreo 8.1; The MIUI 10  is also there with Artificial intelligence breathing new life in the smartphone.

Camera

The back camera is the major highlight of Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. For optics, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a dual rear camera setup which includes a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 0.8-micron pixels which are claimed to be the capability of taking pictures equivalent of a 12-megapixel photo taken with larger 1.6-micron pixels camera. There is a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an LED flash. At the front, there is a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, AI beauty and more to take good selfies and portrait shots.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 price in India starts at INR 9999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage version while the 4GB RAM/64GB of storage version is priced at INR 11,999. On the other hand, there is also a 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version which is currently priced at 1399 yuan (Rs. 14,500)($205) but not launched in India. The smartphone will be available in OnyX black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue color.
