Xiaomi has already announced that their company is working with Google and developing an another Android One phone. Now it seems like there’re more than one Android One phones in the pipeline with Google. The developers at XDA first spotted the existence of another Android One device in a System Dump that they were investigating.
The first one is codenamed as “jasmine_sprout,” and this one is powered by a Snapdragon 660 chip and dual-cameras, which means we are looking here at a Mi 6X here which is supposed to be a Mi A2, which will be the successor of the Mi A1 Android One phone. While the second one is codenamed as “daisy_sprout,” which is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 625, which is now an overly used chip in all budget phones, ranging from the new Redmi Note 5, Mi A1, Redmi Note 4 and now this one.

So, the second one sounds quite similar to the recently leaked, Redmi S2 and Xiaomi’s CEO also once said that a Redmi Android One device is on its way later this year. Moreover, a rebranded Redmi S2 is quite likely the second Android One device will be. Witnessing the immense success of the Xiaomi Mi A1, Google is counting on Xiaomi to further introduce more Android One devices in select markets, where it thinks it can capture the next billion users.
So in the pursuit to capture that market, now we have another budget Xiaomi Android One device. Xiaomi has also said that it’s won’t be wanting more than 5% profits from its shipments. Thus, further fueling the selection of Xiaomi as a prominent player for a second Android One device.
