Samsung Galaxy S8 on AT&T starts receiving October Security update

Samsung is killing it this year with Security updates, the company is on the forefront and leading in this space ahead of all OEMs. And now it’s rolling out a new update, for the AT&T Galaxy S8 users, this new firmware is the latest October security update and fixes all the vulnerabilities and other unknown security holes.

The update comes with version number G950USQU1AQJC on the AT&T Galaxy S8 variant. Yes, sadly it’s not the Android Oreo beta, that’s currently rolling out at various stage one countries. Samsung is at least covering you from these so-called essential security updates; that Google does to make your Android Experience more secure and stable.

Moreover, this bumps up the Samsung experience to 8.1, and it’s not the Android Oreo 8.1 or something, that’s just related to Samsung’s TouchWiz, the Android Oreo 8.0 brings the Samsung Experience to version 9.0. However, the final Oreo 8.0 build will start coming out for the public next year sometime in Jan or Feb 2018, according to Samsung Turkey.

Now to install this update, its recommended to download it over WiFi rather than mobile data, and you also need to charge your device up to, 60% plus; to smoothly complete this process, without any issues. Other than that, if you haven’t received the notification pop-up yet, then straight away had over to Settings >About Phone > System Software updates, to keep an eye on these updates manually.
