Earlier it was rumored that Samsung has already begun development for its Android Oreo Update for its Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus, as these two flagships will be the first to receive this update. And now we have Samsung Turkey confirming the same and shedding some light over the arrival of the software update for these two devices.
Samsung Turkey confirmed that the Android Oreo update would start arriving from January 2018. Moreover, there was no specific date mentioned, nor any device was specified for the update. But we think the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus will be in the front row along with the Galaxy Note 8 in the queue for this highly anticipated update.
Apart from that, it could also be that in Turkey it might arrive in January 2018, but in Samsung’s leading market that’s in the US and South-Korea, it might arrive much earlier than that? Could be possible!
However, we haven’t seen any beta program being live or scheduled for any top end Galaxy devices yet. So, this suggests that the January projection for Oreo update seems to be entirely legit. And if the beta testing session starts in late November, then you can expect it to arrive a little more sooner.
Lastly, Samsung’s flagship from 2016 such as the S7 and the S7 Edge are also eligible for the Android Oreo Update. And for them, the update is expected to come sometime in late Feb or in late March of 2018.
