You can Root your Poco F1 either using Magisk or the traditional Super SU users method, and both of them are given below in step by step form.

Requirements before you proceed

  • Before you move along, you need at least 50% or more battery in reserve
  • Firstly you need to have ADB and fastboot drivers installed on your computer
  • Next, USB drivers for the Poço F1 are also required
  • TWRP custom recovery should be installed on your handset
  • Download the Magisk or the SU Super-user files from the links given below
  • The Bootloader of your Xiaomi Poco F1 should be unlocked

How to Root Poco f1 with SU Super-user

Before proceeding transfer that Superuser file that you downloaded from above on your phone’s internal storage.

Step 1: First you should have an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery installed

Step 2: If those two things are done then, boot your Poco F1 into the recovery mode

Step 3: To enter into the recovery mode, hold your Volume Up key as well as the Power key simultaneously

Step 4: Once, you enter the TWRP recovery screen, Tap on install option

Step 5: Next, navigate to that SU file that you placed earlier on your phone’s internal storage

Step 6: Once, found you need to select that file and install it which you can do so by Swiping to start the flashing process

After that installation process is complete, reboot your device, and you will have root access, you verify that whether you got root access or not, by downloading the Root Checker app below.

 

How to Root Poço F1 using Magisk

Firstly, transfer the magisk file that you downloaded from above on to your phone’s internal storage, remember not to place it within any folder just on your root directory

Step 1: Make sure you have an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery like TWRP installed on your handset

Step 2: Both things are prepared then start to boot your Poco F1 into the Custom recovery mode

Step 3: Now to enter the Custom recovery mode, you have to hold your Volume Up button along with the Power key together.

Step 4: Once, you have entered the TWRP recovery menu screen, Tap on install tab

Step 5: Following that, browse to that downloaded Magisk file that you stored earlier on your phone’s root directory

Step 6: Once, found you need to select the magisk file and install it which can be done by just swiping it to right to confirm the flashing process.

Reboot, and you will get root access on your Poco F1, and you can start installing Xposed modules and the new Custom ROMs coming this fall.
