It has been some time now since Google announced the latest version of Android, the Android Oreo update is now finally rolling out to many smartphones of various OEMs which arises the question, will my LG smartphone get Android Oreo update or not. Without any doubt the recently launched flagship Lg devices such as the LG G6 and LG V30 will surely get the Android Oreo update but what about the older and mid-range device. To answer all these questions we have compiled the list of LG smartphones that will get the latest Android Oreo update.
LG has been quite selective from the past two years when it comes to software updates for its devices. The company has only been updating devices of Flagship segment, while there has been negligible support for the Budget segment of devices. Currently, LG is concentrating on just flagship devices such as LG G6, LG V30, LG V20, LG V10, LG G5, and many others.
LG used to be one of the best smartphone manufacturers who also used to support their devices for Android updates for an extended period, but now, it seems that they are skipping updates for all their lower-priced devices and just targeting their main flagship devices only.
We will be including the mid-ranged LG devices as well which has some chance of getting the update.

These are some of the handsets that have a possibility of getting upgraded to Android O. Now let us talk about the flagship handsets from LG in detail.
LG V30 Android Oreo Update
LG V30 and V30 Plus are the latest flagships from the LG and they were expected to be the first in line to get the Android Oreo update and that is the case. Both the V30 and the V30 Plus smartphones have received the Official stable Android oreo 8.0 update after weeks of beta testing.
LG G6 Android Oreo Update
This is the flagship from LG for the year 2017, and as we know most of the companies provide an update to a flagship device for at least two years, or we must say at least two major Android upgrades are provided.
As we know the LG G6 is the latest Android handset from LG hence, it will be surely getting the Android Oreo.
According to latest reports, the LG G6 handset is scheduled to receive the stable Android oreo update in the month of Feb 2018. The company will first start the Beta testing of the update and the Beta update will be rolled out to the testers. A recent leak showed an LG G6 running on the Android Oreo Beta, so the mainstream Beta update is right around the corner for G6 users.
LG V20 Android Oreo Update
Update: 11 Oct 2018: LG V20 Internation model is now getting the Android Oreo update.
This device is another flagship from LG and although it was launched before LG G6. Still, the hardware of the phone is more than capable of running the Android Oreo software seamlessly.
But LG will have to tweak the software a bit for the secondary display which is quite a hectic and time-consuming task and for this reason LG might delay the Android Oreo update for the LG V20.
LG G5 Android Oreo Update
Now as we mentioned in the LG G6 write up, about the 2 Major Android Upgrades and hence LG G5 is eligible for its last major Android Upgrade which most likely will be the Android Oreo, but this might be the last major update for the G5.
LG V10 Android Oreo Update
The LG V10 is quite an old phone and was the predecessor of the LG V20 the device comes with some powerful hardware as well, but having a powerful hardware is not going to get V10 the Android Oreo Update, and it’s LG who is going to decide the same.
After seeing the record of LG, it is quite likely that LG V10 might not get any further updates from LG.
Mid-Ranged Devices
Devices such as LG Q6, LG Q6 Plus,LG Q8 LG X-series devices, and LG Stylus, most of these devices were launched with Android Nougat, and most of these devices have a fair chance of getting the Android Oreo update.
Technically speaking we will have to wait a bit for any confirmation from LG side to know what specific devices LG has a plan on updating. The above list of devices are just an estimate, and the company has not confirmed any of the devices for an official update, we will have to wait for an official word from LG regarding this.
If you own a Samsung device, you can check the expected list of devices which will get the Android Oreo update.
