AT&T tests 5G speeds up to 2GBPS

AT&T has been leading from the front when it comes to 5G. The telecom giant has been working hard to be the first 5G network in North America. The company has been doing various speed tests to get the maximum speeds possible on the 5G network. In some speed tests done recently, AT&T has managed to get 5G speeds up to 2Gbps which is an amazing feat for America’s second largest carrier.

The 5G network has the potential of reaching 10Gbps speed which is insane, and from the looks of it, AT&T seems to be on the right path. In the speed tests done last month, the company was able to get 1Gbps speeds, and now after 30 days, they have managed to double the Internet speeds.  This record was achieved while carrying out tests in Atlanta using the NETGEAR Nighthawk 5G Mobile Hotspot.

To give you an idea of the potential of the 5G network, AT&T says you’ll only need 10 seconds to download a 2-hour HD movie on its 5G network.

5G will be the big thing in 2020 when we see 5G smartphones from every smartphone manufacturer. It will be quite interesting to see how AT&T manages to bring these amazing speeds to every 5G user across America. We have already seen Samsung launch a 5G supported smartphone; it’s only time when others decide to jump in on the 5G bandwagon. Apple will also likely join the 5G club with the next year iPhones.
