Xiaomi Redmi 5A launched in China, comes with Snapdragon 425 SOC

We recently posted an article providing the information about the leaked poster of the Xiaomi Redmi 5A and today Xiaomi has launched it officially. If you don’t know, it is the successor to the old Redmi 4A, and like its elder brother, Redmi 5A is also a budget-friendly device. So let’s check out the official details about the specifications and pricing of the phone.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a Dual-SIM smartphone and comes with the support of 4G connectivity. Powering it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425(64 bit) Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.4Ghz along�with 2GB of RAM along and an Adreno 308 GPU for Gaming. Earlier the leaks have suggested a 3GB RAM variant as well, but for now, Xiaomi has not said anything about its existence.

The phones offer 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via micro-SD Card. In the front, there is a 5.0(inch) HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. In the Camera section, it sports a 13MP rear shooter with Aperture f/2.2, LED Flash, and in the front, it has a 5MP camera for selfies. The phone runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat, and the overall design of the smartphone has been polished to look refreshed.

It runs on a 3000mAh battery with a USB 2.0 port for charging. It will be made available in Gold, Pink and Black color for a price tag of CNY 599(approx. 6,000 INR).
