Xiaomi has never worked hard when it comes to maintenance of the development of any of its device. Maintaining a feature-packed custom ROM like MIUI is hard. Last year, Google in collaboration with Xiaomi brought the Mi A1 running on the stock Android Oreo under the Android One program. This was never the case with Xiaomi before. That’s why they had a delay in releasing the latest stock firmware lately.
Still, Xiaomi started to live up to the mark and started giving out regular updates including the firmware updates as well. It turns out they’ve released another update the previous build. This time it is v9.5.4.0, i.e., the MIUI 9.5 which is good for the Mi A1 users. This latest update is now available as an OTA to the Xiaomi Mi A1 users, and the update just rolled out just yesterday. If you want to grab it as soon as possible without waiting for OTA or some for some other reason, you can do it via manually as well. All you need to do is simple flashing via fastboot.
To install the latest update manually, you need your Mind A1 to be unlocked (guide). So before we start the process, you need to download the required the file of the firmware which you can find below. Along with that, you should download the Mi Flash Tool which can be downloaded below.
DOWNLOADS
Once you’re done with the downloading these two files from the above links, all you need to do is simply flash the firmware through the flash tool.
In case, if you still find some problem with the flashing process, you can check out Mi Flash Tool for more information.
If you do the process without any fail, then you’re good to go without any worries. If you do it any wrong, then it’s just doing the process in the wrong way. Make sure read everything carefully before you do any of the steps. Do at your own risk.
