HMD’s Nokia has been on a roll lately, and now the company announced today on Twitter that it has started rolling out the latest flavor of the Android OS that’s the Android Oreo 8.1, which has only been running on Google’s Pixel devices. The Finnish giant has already rolled out the stable build of Android Oreo 8.0 last year as it was promised, while later within a month of the announcement of the beta release.
And now with the Oreo 8.1 arriving starting today, we firmly believe that the Stable build of Android 8.1 should reach within a couple of months. Now do remember that this beta rollout is only for the Nokia 8 users who have signed up for the Nokia Beta labs program, and if you wish to join-in just visit this link here and sign-up before it gets full.
Moreover, the Android Oreo 8.1 update weights at around 1.55GB and brings all the exclusive Pixel only feature on your Nokia 8. For instance, the Android Oreo 8.1 has the new color tinted notification bar, better battery optimized system framework and much more and we hope they are present in this beta for the Nokia 8. You can have a look at all the new features of Android Oreo 8.1 in-depth, just visit this link here.
Furthermore, we can expect the Nokia 7, the 7 Plus and the Nokia 6 to join the queue of Android Oreo 8.1 pretty soon. And looking at Nokia’s track record of delivering updates in spite of being a new player to this game, we were quite impressed and are assured that budget device in the range will soon follow the same.
The company’s CMO has already announced that the Nokia 2 will get the Android Oreo 8.0 Go edition update later this year.
