Nokia 6, the mid-range smartphone from HMD is now getting Android Oreo beta via Nokia Beta Labs. As promised by HMD’s Chief Product Manager, after the Nokia 5 Android Oreo beta, the Nokia 6 was next in the line, and the company has delivered on that front very well. However, if you to get this beta Android Oreo version on your Nokia 6, then first you have to sign-up for the beta labs program. You can find the sign-up link below.
The Android Oreo 8.0 brings a whole host of new features, for instance, the Picture in Picture mode, better battery optimizations, auto-fill text fields to name a few. Also, do note that such beta programs mean that the Android Version you install for testing will have several bugs and some features do work while others won’t. The update is said to be over the air and should be covering the globe soon, in several phases.

However, make sure you have at least 60% battery remaining before you install this update, and it’s recommended to download it over WiFi rather than mobile data. If you have received the update, just comment down the region, you live in so; others will know where the update has started rolling out. Apart from that the final build of Android Oreo for both the Nokia 5 and the Nokia 6 might arrive somewhere in mid-January 2018 if everything goes well and no significant bugs rise in the beta process.
Nokia due to its stock Android implementation on its devices can deliver updates at a faster pace, and this also applies to its entry-level budget devices like the Nokia 3 which will even get the Oreo update as per, HMD’s CPM.
