Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max Prime gets the MIUI 9 Global Nightly Update

Xiaomi launched its Mi Max and Mi Max Prime smartphones last year in India, at present their successor Mi Max 2 is available in the market. Both the devices come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and recently they have received a Nougat update. So today we are having a fresh piece of information which is good news for the Mi Max and Mi Max Prime users.

Recently Xiaomi has released the MIUI 9 Global nightly update for the Mi Max devices and do note that it is not currently available for all units. Xiaomi will release this update to a few selected devices and if they receive positive feedback for the update then only it will be released to all devices, this process will take around a week or more. Recently their Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 devices have received the MIUI 9 update and after the Mi Max update their Redmi Y1-series will be updated to MIUI 9.

The update weighs hefty at 639MB’s for both the devices and it is arriving with a version number “MIUI V9.1.1.0.NBCMIEI” and “MIUI V9.1.2.0.NBDMIEI”. This update will bring some noticeable changes to the device including Split Screen functionality, new screen animation, security scan, Mi Drop comes pre-loaded, the Reading mode can now be turned on and off automatically at sunset and sunrise, etc.

Users can expect some great under the hood performance changes as well. Before installing the update, please make sure that your device is having 50% of charge remaining. This update is a nightly build update and will be soon rollout as the official build.
