HTC has finally stepped into the modern design era with their HTC U11 plus, the phone is the bigger brother of HTC U11, and is packing an extra punch and that cool looking 18:9 aspect ratio display, that everyone is doing nowadays. The major specs remain the same, but there are some differences we’ll talk about them, here in this post.
The U11 Plus now gets a larger3930mAh battery which is a significant bump from the regular version which just had a3000 mAh pack. Apart from that, the main attraction here is the new 18:9 display which measures 6.0-inch at a1440×2880 resolution, it’s a Super LCD panel(fancy name for a bright LCD). However, with a software update the HTCU 11 Plus will also start supporting theHDR10 display property; all of this in the same package as the U11.
So, this thing is genuinely on steroids. However, the corners of the display on the HTC U11 Plus are not curved like other 18:9 panels, which from a distance doesn’t make it seem like it has those bezel-free panels, and the screen-to-body ratio is also a healthy 82%.
Still here’s no wireless charging and if you’re wondering what’s that alien looking coil on that translucent version, well its just an NFC antenna, nothing related to wireless charging here. Moreover, it also misses on the headphone jack, but fortunately has a micro-sd card slot, phew! Other, little improvements include now its IP68 certified, while the regular U11 was just IP67, giving theU11 Plus more confidence to play in water and dust. A 30% louder audio sound, both via earphones and the through the speaker. The HTC U11 PLUS ships with Android Oreo pre-installed, yes, you heard it right the Oreo 8.0 is here.
While rest of the stuff is the same, such as the squeeze functionality is here which BTW now opens up a Galaxy Note 8 like circular scrolling menu.
