Google’s Pixel’s camera was easily one of the best smart phone cameras of last year and produced some really good-looking pictures which were on par and even better than the iPhone’s and Galaxy’s. It did all this without the help of OIS, Pixel’s software processing and trickery made all the difference for the phone to boosts its camera game to the next level.
One such camera feature that Pixel has mastered is the HDR+. Which not only smashed its contenders at that time but still today nobody does it better than the Pixel. Now with some good porting and software tricks, a developer who goes by the name B-S-G, posted a modified version of Google Camera app. Which also brings Pixel’s infamous HDR+ software image processing software to devices that sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/81 or the latest 835 processor.
Moreover, users from XDA have reported a noticeable improvement in the image quality over their phone’s stock camera app. The app is reported to work without any issues on LG G6, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S8. In addition to that, it is also confirmed that this app isn’t any phony baloney malware. And doesn’t cause any harm to your device so you’re safe to try it.
Just don’t expect to get results similar to the Pixel. The camera app of Pixel works in harmony with its camera hardware only. And will also receive updates regularly to improve it.
