Xiaomi Mi 5s Receives Stable MIUI 9.5.4 update

Xiaomi is on fire with their latest MIUI updates. A lot of Xiaomi devices are getting the Android Oreo update. It doesn’t matter if you are on MIUI 9.5 or MIUI 10. Depending on the device you have, you will be able to receive the Android Oreo update for your device. Xiaomi Mi 5s users are still on the Nougat update which came after the Marshmallow launched with the device itself back in 2016.

We knew that the Mi 5s would be receiving the Oreo update. We only lacked a date which is finally here now. The MIUI 10 update is also scheduled for the Mi 5s. At least in the beta update, we will be able to see the new smell of a redesigned UI. If you still don’t know how to get to the beta, you can still enjoy the MIUI 9.5.4 stable version for your Mi 5s.

All you need to do is relax and wait for the update itself. The update comes with a size of 1.3GB which is usually expected from a new version of Android. Under the hood, you’ll see a bunch of goodies waiting to be unwrapped, listed down.

Changelog

  • Mi AI Voice Assistant.
  • Fixed issues while playing online services.
  • Hide Second Space shortcut in the Settings
  • Added Recommended For You in the browser app.
  • New Search bar with wider input area.

If you don’t want to wait for the OTA update, you can manually install it on your Mi 5s. All you need is to download the official zip, and you’ll be good to go. Install it manually only if you are good with rooting and flashing custom stuff.
