Samsung is very good with security updates but only when it comes to flagships. It still lags behind when it comes to major Android OS updates, and this is again evident with Samsung Turkey pushing out some bad news for a few Galaxy device users. As per Samsung Turkey, the Android Oreo 8.0 Update for the Galaxy J3 2017, Galaxy J5 2017, Galaxy J7 2017 and also for the Galaxy J5 Pro will now be delayed due to some issues. The new date for these devices which were in testing phase is now pushed away to so far that you have to wait for at least two months now for the Oreo update to roll out.
As per the image below, you can see the new dates/timeline released for these devices. And for the Galaxy J3, J5 and J7 pro which are also known as J3, J5 and Galaxy J7 2017 in some markets are expected to get the update by September 2018. Which is two months away from now. Now coming towards the Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 which has already received the Oreo update in specific markets, and for those markets which haven’t received the update yet, will have to wait for August 2018.

We don’t know why the delays have caused by if it brings a super stable version of the latest flavor of Android, then some of this can be forgiven. However, we hope that Samsung will at least offer monthly security patches to these budget devices until the Oreo shows up.
