Xiaomi as per its roadmap which it revealed a few weeks is working on schedule as now the Chinese giant has started rolling out the highly anticipated MIUI 9.5 update for a bunch of devices. These devices come from the budget segment such as the Redmi 5, Redmi 4, Redmi 5 Plus and lastly for the brand new Redmi Note 5. However, don’t get too excited as this MIUI 9.5 isn’t based on the latest Android Oreo OS, but rather includes alterations which are specific to the MIUI.

- Redmi 4 AKA 4X gets firmware version v9.5.4.0.NAMMIFA
- Redmi 5 gets firmware version v9.5.7.0.NDAMIFA
- Redmi 5 Plus/Redmi Note 5 V9.5.4.0.NEGMIFA
So what’s new with this one? Well, a couple of changes on the surface while the majority of the modifications and bugs are fixed under the hood. The new MIUI 9.5 brings uninterrupted transfer option, that’s the Resume function is added to the Mi Mover, a New format for floating notifications, optimized browser kernel, quick search options, etc.
While these features also come with the MIUI 9.5.4 which was also rolled out for Redmi Note 5 Pro but it was based on Android Oreo, while this one is based on Android Nougat. Earlier, we have seen Xiaomi pushing the same update for its Redmi 3S and 3S prime, and now in early April, we see it for the Redmi 5 and the devices mentioned above, which means the company is following their strict schedule.
The next batch of devices should also expect the MIUI 9.5 pretty soon. Watch this space for more updates on MIUI 9.5.
