HMD Global updates the entry-level Nokia 3 to Android Nougat 7.1.1

HMD global as promised by its Chief product officer is now rolling out the Android 7.1 update for its Nokia 3 entry level handset(from 7.0). Back in early August, the HMD executive promised the update for all its budget and entry level devices, and now here we have HMD delivering it to its customers.

The update is over-the-air and hitting across the globe in phases as described by the HMD chief executive and weighs in at 748.3MB. Which suggests the Finnish giant didn’t cut on any features and the upgrade comes as a complete package; because HMD doesn’t use any skins or extra features/bloatware on its Nokia phones. Because they run on close to stock android; hence prepping out fast updates.

Moreover, users can expect several bug fixes and performance enhancements; which are done at the code level. And some tiny changes to the user interface is mentioned in the update. And lastly, you know the as per the norm, the update proceeds in phases region-wise. So, don’t worry if you didn’t receive the notification, till then you check manually by going straight into Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

Also, your Nokia 3 should have at least 60% charge and above to avoid any failures or shutdowns; while installing the update and it’s always recommended to download the update over Wifi, instead of Mobile data.

With that said, HMD global proved and pressurized other OEMs, to update their budget and mid-range phones as well; with this latest move from the Finnish company.
