Motorola unveiled its new budget series for 2018, that’s the Moto G series which is now in the Sixth Generation along with the Moto E5 series as well, which was a big surprise for everyone; in total six phones were launched today by the tech giant. The Moto G6 series and the Moto E5 series both have three models starting from the Moto E5 Play, the Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus.
In the G series, we have the Moto G6 Play, the Moto G6, and the premium Moto G6 Plus. For starter’s the devices comes in a new design and bring a lot of improvements over their predecessors. In this post, we will tell you everything you need to know about the Moto G series, and for the Moto E5 series, we have a separate post.
Moto G6 Plus
The Moto G6 Plus is the high-end variant in the G6 line-up featuring all the bells and whistles in a posh looking glass pack which defines a new level of premium in its class. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chip(2.2GHz), paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and has 64GB and a new 128GB will also make its way this time. The display is, at last, an 18:9, 5.9-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD Max-Vision display.
The design takes a lot of inspiration from the flagship Moto X series, and now the Moto G6 has a glass finish covered in gorilla glass on the front and back. Nonetheless, this makes the Moto G6 series much more premium due to its high-end build quality, punching above its segment.

On the camera front, we have a Dual-Camera set-up sporting a 12 MP sensor at a pixel size of 1.4um and a 5 MP(f/2.2) depth sensor; the primary sensors come at an impressive aperture of f/1.7, which will surely benefit the Moto G6 Plus in low light situations. An 8 MP front camera with selfie flash is also present. Keeping the device alive is a 3200mAh battery, which is a minor bump from last years, 3000mAh power pack.

The new Moto-Voice feature from the Moto Z and the Moto X series, at last, shows up on the budget Moto G series. The Moto Voice found on the G6+ and G6 comes armed with AI knowledge engine which allows it to do complex tasks such as sending a message to a particular person on a specific social media app, finding restaurants, cafes, etc. The Moto-Voice will listen to your even when the screen is turned off(on standby) for 24/7 without draining your battery.
Beta Experience feature is similar to Sony’s AOSP project, which allows users to test and give feedback or even come up with a new idea for the development of software features.

European prices are out for the Moto G6 Plus, and it will retail for €299. And this will vary in different markets, so don’t draw your conclusions right now, the Indian price as always will be much more aggressive, and this applies to all three models.
Moto G6

This is the standard Moto G6 model, which sits above the Moto G6 Play and below the Moto G6 Plus. Under the hood, the Moto G6 is powered by a Snapdragon 450 octa-core(1.8GHz) coupled with 4GB/3GB RAM and onboard storage comes at either 64GB or 32GB options.
Moving ahead, the display is a 5.7-inch 18:9 having a Full-HD+ resolution and IPS LCD panel. While the standard Moto G6 also features a Dual-Camera set-up, with a 12 MP F/1.8 Aperture and a 5 MP sensor. The front gets an 8 MP (f/2.2) snapper paired with a selfie flash as well on the front.

The Moto G6 packs a decent 3000mAh battery with a turbo power capabilities. Both the Moto G6 and the G6 Plus feature’s a front mounted fingerprint reader. The Moto G6 will retail for Moto G6 €249 in the EU markets.
Moto G6 Play

The lite version of the Moto G6 line up is the Moto G6 Play, and this one has a rear mounted fingerprint reader, embedded within the Motorola batwing logo. At the heart of the G6 Play beats a Snapdragon 427 for the US markets, while for the rest of the world the G6 Play will have an SD 430 processor. In the memory department, the Play has 3GB and 2GB RAM models, with 32GB as its only storage option.
Moreover, the Moto G6 Play features a single 13 MP(f/2.0 aperture) camera sensor along with a LED flash. But still has a larger 5.7-inch IPS panel carrying a (720p+) HD+ resolution. However, the Moto G6 Play punches back with its massive 4000mAh battery pack. Combined with that low res display should deliver extraordinary battery life on a budget. The G6 in Europe will retail for €199.

All the three models of the Moto G6 series ships with clean Stock Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. Unfortunately, the Moto G6 Plus won’t be coming to the USA, while rest of the world should expect it. Pricing for the Moto G6 series is also pocket-friendly to some extent, and each region should expect different prices. So, don’t convert them yet and wait for the official pricing for your Country.
