Huawei Honor 8 might get the EMUI 8.0 update based on Nougat

Long back in 2016 Huawei announced its Dual Camera device the Honor 8, the device came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and was later updated to the Android 7.0 Nougat. Now we have stepped in 2018, but users are still waiting for the Android Oreo update for the device. In case you don’t know Huawei has recently released its updated User Interface the EMUI 8.0 which is based on the Android Oreo, this software is already available for some latest Honor devices, but the question is when it will be rolling out for the Honor 8?

List of Huawei devices which will get the Android Oreo update.

If you own an Honor 8 handset, then you may feel sad as the device will not be receiving the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update. Honor India on Twitter recently posted that the Oreo update will not be coming to the device as its hardware is old and is not compatible with the latest software.

However, we all know that the device is still on the list of best devices from Honor and we don’t know how the brand could take this irresponsible decision as the device is still really popular.

The latest piece of information reveals that the device will be getting EMUI 8.0, but it will be based on the Android 7.0 Nougat instead of the Android Oreo.

This kind of implementation looks familiar to us as Xiaomi is doing it from ages, recently Xiaomi has released MIUI 9 for its way old Redmi 1S handset, and it looks like Huawei may be doing the same thing with their Honor 8 handset. So in all the device is expected to get the new EMUI 8.0 features but the users may have to compromise on the traditional Oreo features.
