HTC, the Taiwanese giant is rolling out the latest Android Oreo update for its HTC U11 users in Taiwan. The OTA comes with build number as 2.31.709.1 and the announcement of the update took place in the Taiwanese forums by HTC’s executives.
However, the company did not reveal any plans for the Android Oreo being rolled out for the US, India, and Europe, but we think after this the next should be the rest of the world covering on region at a time, so the international variants should expect anytime time in December or in early January 2018.
Apart from that, the new flavor of Oreo brings a whole host of new features such as the improved battery life, picture in picture mode, enhancements to notifications and much more, however, we already have Android Oreo 8.1 being available as a developer preview and the final build should arrive in late November to early December 2017.
Now coming to the HTC U Ultra and HTC 10 owners, they should expect the Android Oreo update in late Jan to Feb in 2018, as these devices might get considered after the U11’s update cycle gets completed, on the other hand HTC U11 Plus users are already enjoying 8.0 as it comes pre-installed in it. Other than HTC, Samsung, Nokia, and Sony have started their Oreo programs and we expect more OEMs to join in soon.
