Face recognition security measure has been around since the Android Jellybean, but in recently Apple introduced its faceID feature in the iPhone X which has triggered every other smartphone maker to include some facial recognition in their smartphones. And now joining this list is the Huawei’s Honor 7X just as the telecom giant promised a few weeks back.
The update with build number B192�is rolling out for the Honor 7X and brings the face unlock feature and also the AR Lens feature. The face unlock can be enabled by heading into Settings > Security and privacy > Face Unlock. This also gets further enhancements by hiding the contents lock screen notifications. This function can also be found�on the Face Unlock > Smart Lock Screen�Notifications.
Moreover, the AR lens now also comes to the Honor 7X, stepping up the Honor 7x’s AR game. With the AR lens, you get a wide range of selfie effects as well as it also can change the background of the subject. You’ll also get landmark detection, but it is still quite quirky. To access the AR lens mode, just head over to Camera > Modes > AR Lens.
The update is currently being pushed for the Chinese variant (model number AL10), while the other international variants under model number L21 L22 and L24 should also start receiving the update in the coming weeks.
Also make sure that you have enough battery in reserve, at least 50% or more, before installing this update. And if you haven’t received the update you can check them manually by going to Settings > About phone and then hit the system software updates, twice a day.
