The US carrier Sprint has started rolling out the June security update for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. The update brings fixes for issues regarding “Find My Mobile”, for the LTE Roaming issues along with SMS fix for “(/5)Ok.” Samsung didn’t say anything about any vulnerability fixes, and if they are actually included or not in this particular update.
The Update is OTA for the following builds
- Sprint Galaxy S8+: G955USQU1AQFJ
- Sprint Galaxy S8: G950USQU1AQFJ
The Verizon and T-Mobile Variants have already got these updates. And now have started receiving the July Security Patch. Sprint is pretty slow when it comes to updates. Which title was earlier hold by Verizon. But at last, you’re getting them, instead of getting stuck on one version forever. Samsung is fulfilling the call of giving monthly security updates for its Flagship devices as promised by them earlier which is a good thing for both the Company and the users.
Remember these Over-The-Air update, comes in phases region-wise. So, don’t worry if you don’t get a notification about it. The other major update from Samsung you can hope is for the Voice Assistant “Bixby”. The Bixby Update is now also heading to the US, bringing the Google Assistant competitor, to map it to your dedicated Bixby button on your Galaxy S8 and S8+.
Just try to check manually by heading over to Settings -> About phone -> System Updates. If you have already updated your device, please let us know about your experience in the comment section down below.
