Cross-platform freeware messaging app WhatsApp has reportedly started rolling out a new update its beta app for Android mobile platform that has introduced a new feature called “Private Reply.” With Private Reply, the users are allowed to send private messages to a single participant in their respective group and others can not see the message in the group.
As of now, this new feature is only meant for the users who use WhatsApp beta version 2.18.355, nevertheless the update tags along with a few bugs. The latest updated version of the beta app is reported to get crashed every time a media files are deleted from the group.
Back in December 2017, it was reported the WhatsApp rolled out the same feature, i.e., Reply Privately in the beta version update for Windows Mobile OS. As soon as the feature came to life in the beta version for Windows Phone, it was immediately dropped out. Later the ‘Reply Private’ featured was speculated to be rolled out very soon. So almost after a year, WhatsApp finally rolled out the feature of Android devices.
To use the Private Reply feature of WhatsApp beta app, long press the text of the send to which the receiver has decided to reply privately. Then press on the three vertical dotted menu option on the top right corner of the app, and then the receiver will have to choose the Private Reply option. Then the message that was selected earlier is going to open in a private mode of the chat window of the sender like a reply thread.
