MX Player is the fully featured Android Video player on the Google Play Store since the Android Gingerbread days, and now the video player has reached its prime. However, it doesn’t only stop that, the MX Player and its developer company were recently acquired by an Indian firm (Times Internet Limited), and now we have already started seeing new updates in the form of new region features on the same.
In the latest 1.10.0.1 Beta version of MX Player, there’s a new feature which lets you watch Stream Video content online within the Video player itself. In this latest update MX Player gains a new tab at the bottom, which says Local which is the section where you will find all your videos stored on your handset and next to the local tab, you will a brand new option named Online, which lets you stream online content.
However, this feature depends over YouTube, means the YouTube app should be there for this to work. You can stream the latest TV Shows and music. Furthermore, it is also being said that they will also bring 40 original shows to this platform similar to what we see from Netflix and Amazon Prime.
It will be interesting to see, how this one competes with those big players and being acquired by an Indian firm gives MX Player an advantage of also producing region-specific content. Now remember this is a Beta verison, so there could be some bugs here and there so keep this in mind and proceed.
