Samsung Galaxy J8 Android Pie (One UI Update) rolling out in India

Samsung has been quite active recently when it comes to pushing out software updates for its devices. The company rolled out the much-awaited Android pie update for the Galaxy J6 last week, and now Samsung is finally pushing out the Android Pie update for the Galaxy J8 smartphone in India. The global rollout of the Android Pie update for Galaxy J8 begin in the first week of April, and now finally Galaxy J8 users in India are getting the official update on their handsets.

Samsung Galaxy J8 was launched with Android Oreo out of the box. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC along with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.  Galaxy J8 sports a dual rear camera set up featuring a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Galaxy J8 is now selling in the country at a price tag of Rs. 13,990.

The firmware version for the Android Pie update is J810GDDU2BSD5/J810GODM2BSD5/J810GDDU2BSC6, and it comes with Samsung’s new One UI experience on top. The update comes in at 1196MB in size, so you’ll have to make sure you have at least 1.5 GB free space in your phone before you start updating. We’ll also recommend you to charge your device to at least 75% before updating to avoid any unexpected shutdowns. The Android Pie update for Indian Galaxy J8 also comes with the April 2019 Android Security Patch.

The update is available via OTA( Over the Air) and will show up automatically on your device, but you can check for it manually as well by going into Settings > Software Update > Download Updates Manually. If you don’t see the update on your Galaxy J8 yet, don’t panic as it takes a day or two for the full rollout.
