Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in the US gets January Security Patch Update

While this is the time where Samsung is preparing for its new phone’s launch, The Galaxy S10 at the unpacked event on Feb 20, The Company has not forgotten about the updates of the 2-Year-old Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, A new OTA update has been scheduled and users have started receiving the update on their devices

The S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were two popular smartphones launched by Samsung in 2016. The S7 and its Edge version runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and haven’t been upgraded to Android Pie Yet and probably never. Reports suggest that this might be the last update to these devices by Samsung.

This new update brings January Security Patch and it is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. According to the Samsung’s official list of Pie update�timeline, the company may not be upgrading to Android 9.0 Pie but the users may not worry as they could install Custom Roms based on Android 9.0 Pie. The Update also brings bug fixes and improvements which is always written in the changelog.

This update will be released via an OTA update, so it may take some time for the users to get the update, but if you are excited you can download the update right now via the Update by forcing it.
